Day To Day

Travel Planning

DAY 01

Cochin Arrival – Onward Drive to Munnar

(approx. 130 km / 4 hrs)

Your driver-guide will meet you at Cochin International Airport or the railway station and take you on the scenic drive up into the hills. Along the way, keep an eye out for the Cheeyappara and Valara waterfalls, tumbling down the mountainside as the road climbs and the air turns cooler. Check into your hotel in Munnar and spend the evening at leisure.

DAY 02

Munnar Sightseeing

(local sightseeing, approx. 40-50 km covered through the day)

A full day exploring what makes Munnar special: rolling tea estates, the Tea Museum, and the still waters of Mattupetty and Kundala Dams, both popular for a bit of boating. Depending on your interests, add on a visit to Eravikulam National Park or Blossom Park. Overnight in Munnar.

DAY 03

Munnar to Thekkady

(approx. 100 km / 3-3.5 hrs)

Check out after breakfast and drive to Thekkady, gateway to the Periyar Tiger Reserve. In the afternoon, take a boat ride on Periyar Lake to spot elephants, sambar deer, and bison along the forested banks. Round off the day with a walk through the local spice market or an optional spice-plantation tour. Overnight in Thekkady.

DAY 04

Thekkady to Alleppey – Houseboat Stay

(approx. 140-160 km / 4-5 hrs)

Following breakfast, set out for Alleppey -fondly known as the “Venice of the East” – and check into your houseboat by early afternoon. Spend the rest of the day drifting through the backwaters- past paddy fields, coconut groves, and small waterside villages- with meals freshly prepared on board and an overnight stay anchored on the water.

DAY 05

Alleppey to Kovalam

(approx. 160 km / 4-4.5 hrs)

Disembark after breakfast and drive south to Kovalam, one of Kerala’s best-known beach towns. Check into your beachfront hotel and spend the rest of the day relaxing by the shore or strolling along the promenade as the sun sets over the Arabian Sea.

DAY 06

Kovalam Beach Day

(at leisure)

A full day to unwind by the coast. Swim, sunbathe, try a traditional Kerala ayurvedic massage, or simply enjoy the laid-back rhythm of the lighthouse and Hawah beaches. Overnight in Kovalam.

DAY 07

Kovalam – Departure

(approx. 16 km / 30-40 mins to Trivandrum)

After breakfast, check out and transfer to Trivandrum International Airport or railway station for your onward journey, bringing your Kerala trip to a relaxed close.

Google speaks about Dream Holidays Kerala

The reviews shared by our travellers on Google speak for themselves, reflecting the warmth of our hospitality and the genuine care that goes into every trip we plan. Reading these heartfelt words means a great deal to us- they remind us why we do what we do, and inspire us to keep delivering journeys our guests will treasure long after they return home.

Munnar Tea Gardens

Rolling carpets of tea stretch across Munnar’s hills as far as the eye can see, framed by cool mountain air and drifting mist. Walking or driving through these plantations, then stopping by the Tea Museum, gives you a firsthand look at how the leaf travels from garden to cup- a stop that’s hard to skip on any trip to Munnar.

Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary, Thekkady

Home to elephants, bison, and a rich variety of birdlife, Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary is Thekkady’s biggest draw. A leisurely boat cruise on Periyar Lake lets you spot animals along the forested shoreline, offering a rare, unhurried brush with the wild heart of Kerala.

Alleppey Backwaters

A maze of palm-fringed canals, paddy fields, and quiet villages, Alleppey’s backwaters are best experienced at a slow pace aboard a traditional houseboat, offering a window into Kerala’s unhurried rural life.

Kovalam Beach

With its crescent-shaped shoreline, historic lighthouse, and laid-back beach shacks, Kovalam is one of South India’s most loved coastal escapes — the perfect place to slow down after days of hill and wildlife exploration.
