Cochin to Munnar: The Journey Begins

Arrive at the Cochin airport, train station, or bus stop to start your journey to Kerala. Our representative will be there to receive you and guide you onwards to the lush, mist-covered landscapes of Munnar. The drive is filled with scenic attractions, including the spectacular Cheeyappara and Valara Waterfalls, along with rolling tea plantations and spice gardens that appear as the road climbs into the hills. Upon arrival, check in to your hotel and spend the evening relaxing amidst Munnar’s refreshing mountain climate. Overnight stay in Munnar.
DAY 02
Munnar Sightseeing
After breakfast, head out to explore Munnar’s most-loved attractions.Take in the colours of the Flower Garden and pause at Photo Point, before moving on to the Honey Bee Tree, Mattupetty Dam, Echo Point, and Kundala Lake. Next, visit Eravikulam National Park, home to the endangered Nilgiri Tahr, and enjoy views of Anamudi Peak, South India’s highest mountain, from the designated viewpoints. Should time permit, swing by Blossom Park or explore a couple of nearby attractions before returning to your hotel for the evening.

Onward to Thekkady from Munnar

After breakfast, bid farewell to your hotel and head off toward Thekkady, a destination celebrated for its dense forests and abundant wildlife. Once you arrive, settle into your hotel before venturing out to discover what the region has to offer, beginning with the well-known Periyar Tiger Reserve and the tranquil waters of Periyar Lake. Subject to availability, you can opt for extra activities like a lake cruise, bamboo rafting, a guided trek through the jungle, or a quiet walk along the sanctuary’s nature trails.Round off the day’s adventures and settle in for an overnight stay at your hotel.

Thekkady to Madurai Drive

After breakfast, check out and begin the drive east towards Madurai, crossing the Western Ghats into the temple-studded plains of Tamil Nadu. On arrival, check in to your hotel and spend the evening at the magnificent Meenakshi Amman Temple, known for its towering gopurams, intricate carvings, and the evening Deeparadhana ceremony. You may also take some time to explore the bustling streets and markets surrounding the temple before returning to your hotel for the night. Overnight stay in Madurai.

Madurai to Rameswaram

After breakfast, check out from the hotel and continue your journey to Rameswaram, one of the Char Dham pilgrimage sites. En route, cross the iconic Pamban Bridge, with the sea stretching out on both sides. On arrival, visit the Ramanathaswamy Temple, famed for its long corridors and sacred water tanks, and take a short trip to Dhanushkodi, the ghost town where the land meets the sea. Rameswaram to Kanyakumari

Following breakfast, check out of the hotel and set off on a scenic coastal drive towards Kanyakumari, India’s southernmost tip, where the Arabian Sea, the Bay of Bengal, and the Indian Ocean meet. Kanyakumari Sightseeing & Drive to Kovalam

Wake up early for an optional sunrise view over the sea before visiting the Vivekananda Rock Memorial and the towering Thiruvalluvar Statue, reachable by a short ferry ride. After breakfast, check out and drive towards Kovalam, one of Kerala’s most iconic beach destinations. Arrive at your seaside hotel in Kovalam and settle in for a relaxing evening by the beach. Unwind to the sound of the waves and enjoy the tranquil coastal atmosphere before spending the night at your hotel.
DAY 08
Leisure Day at Kovalam
Spend the day at your own pace along Kovalam’s famous Lighthouse Beach and Hawah Beach. Swim in the calm waters, try fresh seafood at a beachside shack, or book an Ayurvedic massage at one of the many wellness centres nearby. Guests looking for a slower day can simply watch the waves roll in from a beach chair, while those wanting more activity can explore the nearby Vizhinjam Fishing Harbour or the Napier Museum in Trivandrum. Kovalam to Alleppey Houseboat
(160 km | Approx. 4 Hours)
After breakfast, check out and drive north towards Alleppey, famously known as the Venice of the East, celebrated for its enchanting backwaters and traditional houseboat experiences. Step aboard your traditional Kerala houseboat and set off on a peaceful cruise through the backwaters, gliding past green paddy fields, coconut groves, sleepy villages, and the vast Vembanad Lake. Onboard, you’ll be served freshly cooked meals, including lunch, evening tea with snacks, dinner, and breakfast. Stay overnight on the houseboat, immersed in the tranquil charm of Kerala’s backwaters.
DAY 10
Onward to Kochi from Alleppey
(70 km | Approx. 2 Hours)
Kick off the morning with breakfast served on the houseboat, then check out and make your way to Kochi. Before departure, if your schedule allows, wander through some of the city’s celebrated landmarks, including St. Francis Church, Santa Cruz Basilica, the Chinese fishing nets, Mattancherry Palace, the Jewish Synagogue, and Marine Drive.
Following that, you will be dropped off at the Cochin Airport, Train Station, or Bus Station for your next destination. We hope to see you again soon and wish you safe travels as your 10-day Madurai vacation package comes to an end.

- GST of 5% is additional and is not included in the package cost
- Mandatory Gala Dinner charges on 24th December (Christmas Eve) and 31st December (New Year's Eve), if applicable, are not included in the package cost
- An additional 2.5% processing fee applies to payments made using online credit cards
- Expenses for personal activities or optional experiences mentioned in the itinerary are excluded
- Any personal expenses such as shopping, laundry, tips, telephone calls, or meals outside the houseboat and stated inclusions are not covered

- Dream Holidays does not have any hidden charges except for personal expenses. All meals on the houseboat are included. If anyone requests extra payment during the trip, please inform us immediately. We will not be responsible for payments made without our knowledge
- Any extra bed or breakfast charges for children not included in the package must be paid directly by the guest as per the hotel's policy
- Christmas Eve (24th December) and New Year's Eve (31st December) Gala Dinner charges will be charged at actual cost
